Fragrance declaration

Why are individual fragrances sometimes listed on Dr. Hauschka products?

In addition to the legally required collective description ‘Parfum’, Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products also specify individual fragrance components (e.g. citral, limonene or geraniol) in the INCI declarations. An asterisk followed by a note (*made from natural essential oils) after the individual fragrances indicates their natural origin as part of the essential oil compounds used. Dr. Hauschka products are not fragranced using any other means. The legal obligation to make this declaration has existed since 2005. The aim is to provide additional information for people with allergies to fragrances. The law stipulates 26 fragrances that must be named in the ingredients lists for skin care products if they contain a certain concentration of that fragrance. As the origin of the fragrances (synthetic or natural) plays no role here, the natural fragrance components of the essential oils used for the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products also has to be stated.
